In the symbol editor you import directly DXF or DWG formats. If you have started the editor, then you have an empty page, select now Extras/Import_DWG/DXF. It opens then file a dialogue, where you look for the file to import.
A page adjustment option Fit to page
Adjustment of the offset (either Auto+centered, or individually with Horizontal and Vertical)
A frame shows the size of the file content (only if you do not switch the side adjustment on)
The option Fit element to grid forces a positioning of all DXF/DWG elements on the grid
OK starts the import
